Survey scams have exploded on Facebook over this past week! Luckily, most of the ones we’ve seen are just trying to earn commissions from each survey completed. Users should always take care on what they click, because sometimes these survey scams contains malicious downloads. Also, never enter your cell phone number if you do make the mistake a complete a survey scam. Scammers will try to bill you for “premium” services.

Shocking and sensational headlines are the bread and butter of Facebook scammers. Avoid them at all cost. When in doubt, do a quick Google search of an outlandish claim or news story. Facebook is not the place to be click-happy!
If you haven’t given Safego a try, then now would be a great time to check it out. It is an internal Facebook application developed by our partner, BitDefender. It scans your newsfeed, among other things, and can warn you of malicious links.
