Why it’s a Scam:
An alert member of the Facecrooks community sent us a copy of a phishing email they received regarding their Facebook account. The contents of the email are displayed below:

Date: Sun, 10 Apr 2011 22:53:33 -0700
From: Facebook
Reply-To: Facebook
Hi ********,
Sorry you’ve been having trouble logging into your Facebook account.
Get back on Facebook now
You can also get password help or login help on Facebook.

The Facebook Team
The links have been removed, but if they had been followed the user would have been prompted to enter his or her Facebook login credentials. This would allow the scammer to take full control over their Facebook account.
Anytime you are directed to a new web page and prompted to enter your Facebook login information, take a second and verify that you are indeed on facebook.com.
