He did it to make people laugh, obviously, and to get his 15 minutes of fame. Unfortunately for him, his video caught the attention of the PETA or the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals. He was charged with a Class A misdemeanor, and it really looks like he won’t be getting away unscathed.
His video, if you have the stomach to watch, involves him eating a tiny hairless baby rat as his friends cheer him on. he proceeds to chew the rat slowly and emphatically. The whole thing is really quite disturbing, not to mention disgusting.
His friends might have found the video amusing, but then the court certainly won’t. There’s enough evidence in that video alone that it’s impossible to imagine how he’s going to get out of this one, and yet he still pleaded not guilty. Even his attorney has asked that he be given “more time to explore a couple of motions he was considering”. The attorney has to be as good as Daniel Webster if he wants to get his client out of this mess.
The bottom line is that people should really watch what they’re posting on Facebook. Enough lives have been ruined because of this seemingly irrational need to broadcast everything. It shouldn’t really be too hard to know what to post and what not to.
