If you happen to read “Bout 2 kill ma kid” in your newsfeed, would you think that it was just a joke, a potential scam or a harmless threat that a tired parent doesn’t really mean? Would you think it was just a figure of speech? After all, people say “I’m going to kill you” a lot without ever following through with the threat. Surely, surely, such an update should never be taken literally, right?

Well, one parent from Melbourne, Australia just proved otherwise. Ramazan “Ramzy” Acar, aged 24, posted “Bout 2 kill ma kid” on his Facebook page right before he stabbed his two-year old daughter, Yazmina. Yazmina, nicknamed Mimi, bled to death after being stabbed multiple times. Acar then dumped her corpse at the Greenvale Reservoir.

The incident first started when Acar took little Yazmina out to buy her a Kinder Surprise at a milk bar. Yazmina’s mother, Rachelle D’Argent, started getting worried, however, when Acar and Yazmina did not return. It turns out that Acar kidnapped the child. D’Argent tried to contact him several times, pleading with him to return the little girl. However, Acar did not comply. Instead, he posted that horrifying status update on his Facebook. In addition, he also sent D’Argent a text message saying “It’s ova I did it”. When she called him, he merely said “I’ve killed her. She’s just lying next to me in her leggings and her top covered in blood.”

Acar admitted to his guilt in the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court when all the evidence was brought forward, his terrible Facebook status update included. Acar has not applied for bail and is due to reappear in the Supreme Court to answer for his heinous crime later this month. If that status update was proof of anything, then Acar’s next one will most probably be “Bout 2 go 2 prison” – hopefully.
