The parents of a 17-year-old girl decided to take matters into their own hands after discovering their daughter’s boyfriend was a convicted sex offender.
19-year-old William Elms, also known as Liam, appeared to be a charming, likeable fellow, according to Julie Myrfors – the mother of teen dating Elms.
Julie and her husband Jesper decided to set up a fake Facebook profile of a girl to see if Elms would do anything improper. Jesper stated, “When we did this, we had rules. We were not trying to entrap him. We were setting him up a situation where, if he was a bad guy, he could act on it,”
And act on it he did – It wasn’t long before Elms was sending explicit photos and messages to the bogus Facebook profile account.
All of this was done without their daughter’s knowledge, and the parents went on to state that it was heartbreaking to expose Elm’s true nature to their daughter.
Not being satisfied with just protecting their own child, The Myrfors contacted local authorities in Sedro-Woolley, Washington. Elms was arrested and now faces additional charges of Immoral Conduct with a Minor.
Even if you don’t agree with their methods, kudos to the parents here for taking a proactive approach in protecting their daughter from a sexual predator.
