A Florida preschooler allegedly got expelled because of something his mom posted on a private Facebook page. The woman, Ashley Habat, took to Facebook to vent about the school, Sunshine Christian Academy, and she claims that her son was kicked out of the school the next day.
Habat said that she was upset with the school after they did not give enough notice about picture day, and she wrote an angry message after her interaction with a school administrator. She also tagged the school’s Facebook account in her post.
“Why is it that every single day there is something new I dislike about Will’s school?” she wrote. “Are my standards really too high or are people working in the education field really just that ignorant.”
When she dropped off her son the next day, she was notified that her son wouldn’t be allowed to attend anymore. According to Habat, the school informed her that it was because of her post.
“Why would you expel a four-year-old over something his mom posts on her private Facebook page only people on her friends list can see?” she said.
Though it’s easy to write something on Facebook in the heat of the moment, it’s always best to be careful and think before posting — especially when tagging another account in the content.
