Facebook Criticized For Not Responding To Hacked Users

It’s no surprise that Facebook hackers are always working to find bigger and better ways to scam users. However, what happens after those hacks often comes as a shock to the victims. Facebook user and business owner Vivian Eisenstadt recently found out the hard way that after an attack, it can be nearly impossible to regain access to your account.

According to Eisenstadt, both her personal and business Facebook accounts were compromised to perpetrate a Bitcoin scam among her connections. She also said it has been impossible to reach someone at Facebook to help her address the problem. And according to experts, this story is all too common.

“They automate so many processes, so many of the things that you’re able to change with your account, and often times these are critical things that become difficult to undo,” computer science expert Dr. Clifford Neuman said. “You reach out to the company, you try to get that personalized customer service and you wait months and months before you are at the head of the queue, and that makes it almost impossible to correct these kinds of intrusions.”

You would think that these stories of disappointed and angry hacking victims might cause Facebook to rethink its customer service plan. However, the company is committed to automation, so the problem doesn’t seem likely to go away anytime soon.
