[Hoax Alert] Do Not Forward the Message Claiming Facebook Servers Have Been Busy Lately…

Another silly hoax is making the rounds on Facebook. We have received several questions from our readers about the message shown below:

This message is to inform all our users that our servers have been very busy lately, so we ask you to help solve this problem. We ask active users to forward this message to everyone on their contact list to confirm active Facebook users if they do not send this message to all their Facebook contacts, and their account will remain inactive with the result of losing all their contacts Move this message. Your smartphone will be updated in the next 24 hours and will have a new design and a new color to chat. Dear Facebook users, we will update to Facebook starting at 23:00 pm. Until 5:00 am of this day. If you do not send it to all your contacts, the update will be canceled and you will not have the possibility to chat with your Facebook messages.”

Nothing about this message holds water. Facebook may be having server issues, but they certainly are not going to ask users to forward any messages like this. Also, Facebook doesn’t want users to close their account…ever. They may ban bad actors on the platform, but they make money from advertisers and user engagement.

Your Smartphone will not be updated with a new design and sadly, you’ll be stuck with the same color of chat for Facebook!

Never share messages like this before checking them out, as most turn out to be recycled hoaxes.
