Scam Name: Cheerleaders Gone Wild Facebook Scam
Scam Signature Message:
Cheerleaders gone wild - have to see this
Scam Link: Various
Scam Type: Clickjacking scam
Trending: September 2010
Why it’s a Scam:
When you click on the link, you are taken to a page that states some material may be inappropriate for some individuals. You are asked to confirm that you are human by clicking the buttons 3,2,1, in that order. Clicking these buttons causes you to become clickjacked. The buttons cause you to “Like” this page and two others: “Funniest videos on the web” and “Free ringtones every day.” A message is then spammed on your newsfeed for all of your friends to see and possibly click on the scam as well. Lastly, the scam does take you to a not too shocking or tantalizing youtube video of cheerleaders.
How to Deal with the Scam:
If you did make the mistake of passing the link onto your friends, you should clean-up your newsfeed and profile to remove references to the all of the pages referenced above.
