Scam Type: Malware – Virus-Trojan – IRC_ZAPCHAST.HU.

Why it’s a Scam:

When you click on the “Download Here” button you are taken to a website that automatically downloads a file named “fb.exe.” Trend Micro detected a malicious Trojan file called IRC_ZAPCHAST.HU.

How to Deal with the Scam:

If you did make the mistake of downloading and installing the fb.exec file, then you should install and update your system with anit-virus software. You then need to perform a complete system scan of your machine. Never fall for any scams of this type. Facebook currently does not provide any toolbars for its users. Also, be wary of official looking messages in your Facebook and email inboxes. When in doubt, go directly to the website in question and verify the message.
