Why it’s a Scam:
Clicking on the main link takes you to www.videotonight.info, a poorly designed page that tries to appear like a YouTube video:
Clicking play will click-jack and like-jack your account. This means that there is underlying code on the page that will cause you to “like” the page and post the scammer’s message to your Facebook wall. We also received the following malware alert:
Always be careful what you click! You never know when a harmless looking link can get you into trouble!
How to Deal with the Scam:
If your anti-virus software failed to block the intrusion, then you should run a complete system scan with your anti-virus program. You also are now spamming your friends with the message shown above. Clean-up your newsfeed and profile to remove references to the scam. (click the “x” in the top right hand corner of the post).
