New “Lily Collins” Hack Is Locking People Out Of Their Facebook Accounts

Another month, another rapidly growing Facebook scam. According to multiple reports around the web, a new attack has begun to spread that has been dubbed the “Lily Collins Hack.” The reason? After the hack’s victims have been locked out of their accounts, their names and profile pictures are changed to the actress. And to make matters worse, Facebook has allegedly been slow to respond to these users.

Some of the hack’s victims believe it happened because they clicked on a fraudulent ad for a ChatGPT program. However, others have no idea how their accounts were compromised. One of these users, entertainment critic Ryan Jay, blasted Facebook for not doing enough to help him regain access to his account.

“I’m just shocked that a company the size of Facebook, one of the largest companies in the world, a billion-dollar company, a leader in the social media space — has absolutely zero accountability for their product and for their lack of responsiveness to their members,” he said. “Does social media need some legislation? I just don’t know who else is going to hold these companies accountable unless we just all boycott and leave Facebook but that’s unrealistic.”

Of course, this isn’t the first widespread Facebook hack, and it certainly won’t be the last. However, the company could make it a lot easier on users by helping them recover from attacks like this.
