Facebook Restores Account Of Conservative Book Publisher After Permanently Banning It

This week, a conservative children’s book publisher was permanently banned from Facebook for violating the company’s policy on “Low Quality or Disruptive Content.” However, once the ban was reported, the company swiftly reversed course and restored the company’s account access.

The publishing house, which produces children’s biographies of conservative figures such as supreme court justice Amy Coney Barrett and former president Ronald Reagan, appealed to Facebook to reverse the ban. However, the appeal was shot down. Only after the ban became public knowledge did the social media giant act to correct the problem. Of course, this action has led to claims of political censorship.

“Apparently, an illustrated biography celebrating the achievements of President Reagan is no longer permissible according to our Big Tech cultural overlords,” Heroes of Liberty editor Bethany Mandel wrote. “They have informed us that our content is ‘disruptive’ and locked our ad account, our data banks, our digital assets…They sunk our investment just like that, with a curt e-mail message. we appealed and were informed that the decision is final and permanent.”

No matter how much Facebook apologizes for mistakes like this, users will understandably be suspicious that the platform has ulterior motives. It’s up to the company to win back our trust, and so far, it hasn’t done a very good job.
